Calvary Chapel Baptist Church was started in 1970 by Bro. Ron Boldman. in the Crescent Theater in downtown Minster. God blessed and used Bro. Boldman in a great way to see many lives changed, and the church grew in a phenomenal way throughout the early years of Calvary Chapel. During those first years, Calvary Chapel became known as “the Miracle in Minster”.
Over the years, God has allowed Calvary Chapel to start many ministries and programs to reach out to the local community. A thriving bus and transportation ministry, student and children’s ministries, a Gospel printing “Seed Line” ministry, and a community food pantry for those in need are just a few of the ministries Calvary Chapel has started through the years.
In addition to the ministries of Calvary Chapel, God has allowed the facilities of Calvary Chapel to grow from humble beginnings in a theater to now include a beautiful auditorium, church office center, a fellowship hall and dining area, classrooms and assembly areas, a full-size gymnasium, a full-service bus garage, and a recreation area with ball fields and playground.
But more important than any ministries or facilities, hundreds of souls have been saved and many lives have been changed as a result of what God has done through the people of Calvary Chapel Baptist Church.
On June 13, 2010, Calvary Chapel entered a new phase of ministry when Pastor Brad Smith, after serving as an assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel for four years, was voted in as the Pastor of Calvary Chapel Baptist Church. To learn more about Pastor Smith and his family, please click here.
Pastor Smith has continued to lead Calvary Chapel in the tradition of the past, but also with a renewed vision for the future. God has certainly blessed Calvary Chapel through the years in miraculous ways, but we fully believe the best is yet to come!
